ManuKura ( Reflective writing )

Manukura Reflective Writing

What the purpose of this change in structure was and why it interest you :

I really wanted to do this to learn and experience new things instead of going class to class. Also I joined this because I was told this is good for my future and this will teach me new things that I would use or need later in life. I have learnt how to be a better leader and found out some new qualities.

What you, as part of the Manukura class are being asked to do :

Right now I am being asked to do my work whether or not the teacher is in class or not. We have a site that we go on that has all of our work on it and we go on this site when we need to do our work. For this Manukura class we have not been asked for much, just to do our work and focus on it.

How well do you think you are keeping up with the work in comparison to beforehand :

I believe that I have done more work in the Manukura class compared to my normal class. I believe it is because there is less stress on me and I can do the work at my own pace compared to my normal class. I like the work in this Manukura class due to it being more fun compared to my normal class and the pacing of it. Our teacher doesn't expect us to finish this in one period but instead gives about a week to finish all of our work then he gives us more.

Comparison of how you feel coming to school each day compared to beforehand :

I enjoy waking up early and have some fun in the morning due to the morning Manukura sessions. Only thing that I don't like much is waking up very early and being tired when I get home but I get over that usually. I have always enjoyed going to school for my friends, basketball and canteen. I enjoy coming to school for the Manukura class because I have made a bunch of relationships in this class. I can talk to most people about whatever I want.  I could do this in my normal class but I feel more connected to this Manukura class.

Pros and Cons to this kind of blended learning compared to 'traditional :

I like it because it means that I can stay in one room compared to moving around, I also like that we only have one teacher and we can make a closer relationship with each other compared to going to other teachers and them trying to make relationships with other kids.
The con of this class is that since we only got one teacher compared to multiple means that we cant have teachers that specialise  in one specific subject like a maths teacher or and English teacher where they have been working in that one industry for years.

How do you feel you have been working when left to take charge of your own learning :

I have been doing my work while the teacher has been away but I must admit that sometimes that the teacher has been gone I have just had a couple of chill periods where I just sit there or talk to my friends. When I am focused on my work though I can easily get through most of my work. When I focus on my work instead of talking to my friends I can get through heaps of work.

If you could improve or change the course in any way that helped support your learning, what would you do?

To support/ help me with my personal learning I would need to focus more on my literacy. Like right now I am focusing on my literacy because I have a couple of literacy exams coming up. Other than that this class is perfect. I find it really easy to work in this class and I like the pacing of the class. The work is not expected to be done In one period but gives you multiple periods to finish your work.

Any other important things you have found over the past four weeks :

I Have learnt to be able to do my work on my own and at my own time. I have also made new friends but other than that I have learnt to do my work at my own time and at my own pace. I have figured out how I like to do my work and I also have found out that I like to have a couple of breaks.

Conclusion

I believe that this class is going to help me with my future and that this class Is going in the right direction. This class is helping me with most of my work and is leading me towards the right direction.
